What Makes CSA Different

All children at Christina Seix Academy come from single-parent families, a proviso established by the Academy’s founder, Christina Seix Dow, who was raised by her single mother, Irma Rivera.  

Full scholarships, worth more than ​​$40,000 yearly, are provided for every student to cover all aspects of their Academy experience. CSA also offers students’ parents classes and other opportunities to learn about finance, employment, and health/wellness.  Class sizes are small, and extended learning ensures students are competitive for high school placement and future success.  

Wraparound support services for students and their families ensure they have food security, stable housing, wellness and healthcare access, and mental health resources. CSA also educates families on how to become informed advocates for their families’ health, housing, and financial futures. Financial literacy programs equip parents with decision-making skills for long-term autonomy. These programs help families’ incomes grow over time while their children are CSA students.

CSA fosters independence, discipline, and cross-cultural connections essential for long-term success. Living in a structured, supportive environment enables students to develop life skills such as time management, adaptability, and resilience. 

The boarding program for 4th through 8th graders also allows their parents to accept jobs, pursue degrees and build stability, knowing their children are safe, engaged in extended academic, artistic, and athletic practices while also developing deep peer connections.    

CSA stays connected with students after middle-school graduation. As graduates move on to mostly independent private high schools and colleges, the CSA community continues to provide oversight, sponsorship, and if needed, advocacy and financial support.
