Welcome to Christina Seix Academy, an independent school and an intergenerational learning community in Trenton, N.J. Here more than 200 students in pre-K to 8^th grade are thriving on a blend of advanced academics and co-curricular programs that include artistic, engineering, athletic and residential life activities.

Connectivity is the key ingredient that differentiates our approach from most other schools because we believe a sense of belonging and safety accelerates learning. Our aim is to give students, all from single parent families in marginalized communities, a clear pathway to achieve their full potential.

While CSA’s year-round academic and co-curricular offerings motivate students help them build vital personal skills for ongoing success, they also are intended to encourage life-long learning. At the same time, our campus advocacy, community partnerships, and health centers serve the students and their families, strengthening trust by supporting parents’ unique and sometimes urgent needs as well.

CSA awards full scholarships for every student, and it offers small classes to enhance learning. The combination of academic and community prepares students to graduate as empowered emerging leaders who enjoy a firm sense of identity and belief in themselves.

This vibrant school and community were founded by Christina Seix Dow, the daughter of a single mother whose dream was to help youngsters from marginalized communities reach their full potential. Christina’s courage, generosity, and audacity drove her to reimagine the role of community schools. Her generous investment, enthusiastically supported by her family, has driven our efforts since we opened in 2012.

As Head of School from the beginning, I have been blessed with the opportunity to establish and grow this shared vision with our families, faculty, and staff who largely mirror the backgrounds of our predominantly Brown and Black students.
