Community-Based Organization Approach

CSA’s community-based organization approach advocates on behalf of its students holistically by merging the focus on rigorous academic achievement with other cornerstones of success including health and wellness, social awareness, financial literacy, athletics, dance, creative arts and design, and ongoing networking. We believe connection and community are the bedrocks of achievement, while deep parental involvement also is essential to success.

Our "Theory of Change" philosophy positions at CSA as a community-based centerd ecosystem that prioritizes education, family empowerment, and fellowship.

A sense of cohesion, belonging, culture, and civic responsibility drive engagement among students. Through social capital development -- fostering networks, norms, and trust to enable people to act for mutual benefit -- CSA also provides students, parents, and their families the tools and networks necessary for long-term, intergenerational sustainability, mobility, and overall success.

The Academy’s collaborative, anchor-space approach is successful because it works at multiple levels.  It forms bonds with similar groups and builds bridges with diverse groups, while always focusing on the core mission to improve the lives of our students, parents, and their families.
