Cornerstones of Success

In Academics

Student success at CSA and beyond is driven by our integrated approach to merging the cornerstones of success within our rigorous academic framework. The development and maintenance of partnerships across the educational, athletic, arts, health, and wellness spectrums are integral to our philosophy.

We do this by:

Balancing our pre-K to 8th-grade academic program with athletics, dance, and other co-curricular programs that foster competition, physical well-being, and artistic expression.

Meeting wraparound needs like food security, health and wellness, and financial literacy to reduce barriers to educational and personal success for students and families.

Through Irma Rivera Center

Internally, much of this partnership and advocacy work for wraparound services to help students and their single parents is conducted by CSA’s team at the Irma Rivera Center (IRC), named after founder Christina Seix Dow’s mother. The IRC team excels at creating and cultivating our essential partnerships with academic, business, and community groups.

In addition to empowering families to build relationships with faculty and staff, the Irma Rivera Center provides parents and families access to numerous classes and resources, including:

  • Health and wellness services
  • Food security
  • Housing rights
  • Employment opportunities

Our Academy’s social workers partner closely with families to ensure all of these needs, and more, are addressed.

We strive not only to help our students develop their leadership potential, but also to encourage their parents to assume leadership roles within the fabric of CSA’s community programs.
