Residential Life

The Residential Life Program at CSA serves up to 80 students, beginning in Grade 4.

Learning extends learning beyond the academic day, providing students with dedicated time and space to take greater ownership of their learning and campus community. Through academic support, creative enrichment opportunities, executive functioning development, and structured evening routines, students strengthen the habits and skills that foster independence and personal growth.

Rooted in CSA’s Village model, Residential Life gives students the opportunity to grow within a connected community of peers and caring adults. Students develop greater agency, adaptability, and self advocacy while building the confidence to navigate high school, college, and new environments beyond CSA.

Building Skills for Life

Our Houses

While housing is structured by age and gender, our program remains deeply interconnected, with regular co-educational programming that strengthens community across all groups. All CSA faculty residents serve to support House Parents in the evening, ensuring around-the-clock care and mentorship while building meaningful relationships with students beyond the classroom.

Residential Life is organized into four distinct “Houses,” designed to foster community, belonging, and age-appropriate development:

Fenrir

(7th–8th Grade Boys)

Qilin

(7th–8th Grade Girls)

Sphinx

(4th–6th Grade Boys)

Phoenix

(4th–6th Grade Girls)

Our Programming

Boarding students experience a balanced and dynamic program that blends:

  • Academic support
  • Athletic development
  • Artistic exploration
  • Student-led clubs
  • Unstructured play and social time

Set on a secure 80-acre campus, students benefit from a collegiate-style environment with extended access to athletic facilities, creative spaces, and enrichment opportunities. As students progress from 4th through 8th grade, they are given increasing levels of choice and responsibility, helping them build the organizational habits and independence needed to thrive in high school and beyond.

Academic & Enrichment Approach

Evening academic programming is personalized to meet each student’s needs. Students may receive:

  • Targeted study hall support
  • One-on-one tutoring
  • Small group instruction

At the same time, students who are excelling are encouraged to explore advanced opportunities, particularly in STEAM-focused learning.

Community Partnerships

Our program is enriched by strong partnerships within the greater Trenton community. Visiting educators and specialists support programming in areas such as coding, science, and technology. Students also benefit from off-campus experiences, including seasonal opportunities like ice skating in nearby Lawrenceville.

At CSA, Residential Life is more than a school—it is a community where students grow, explore, and develop the skills needed for lifelong success.
